Joanne Adams
Joanne has more than 20 years experience with Pfizer Corporation; Supelco, Division of Sigma Aldrich and Duro Bag Manufacturing. She has a track record of improving quality, reducing cost and completing projects on time while assuring strict regulatory compliance. Joanne’s skills include: quality assurance, packaging engineering, leadership, teamwork, and supplier quality management.
Her recent accomplishments include projects with total annual savings of more than $2-million: She earned Black Belt (Six Sigma) certification with a project that used risk based sampling and accuracy of packaging material inspection doubled. Initiated project to reduce lead-time of packaging material release by 50%, which resulted in annual savings of $548,000.
Joanne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging from Michigan State University and an MBA with minor in manufacturing from Pennsylvania State University.
Edward J. Bauer
Ed Bauer has held management positions in research, product development, engineering, project management, plant design, plant startup, operations and manufacturing. Apart from technical areas, he has extensive experience in sales, product, and marketing management for specialized chemical coatings. In packaging he has been responsible for all types of packaging at a major food company, and pharmaceutical packaging of all forms at two major pharmaceutical manufacturers and a medical device manufacturer. He retired from Bausch and Lomb as Director of Global Packaging.
He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Institute of Packaging Professionals, Society of Plastic Engineers, and a past member of the National Coil Coaters Association, National Metal Decorators Association and the Federation of Societies for Paint Technology. Mr. Bauer has major applied developments in coil coatings, food and beverage can coatings, metal can manufacturing, dual ovenable plastic food containers, retortable plastic food containers, plastic cans, and specialized pharmaceutical packaging for the delivery of drugs, vaccines, pediatric and medical nutritional products.
He holds a BS in Packaging from Michigan State University, and has participated in the Master of Engineering Administration program, Marketing of Technology at The George Washington University.
Terry Bedell

His experience in consumer product R&D assignment extends for more than 40 years, primarily on developing new packaging for companies including General Foods (now part of Kraft), Lipton, and Riviana Foods. At Clorox, he retired as Research Fellow in Packaging. Clorox assignments included Packaging R&D; Procurement; and managing package and product related environmental issues. In addition to helping Clorox find ways to optimize the use of packaging materials and components, served as the company’s senior technical expert for packaging and provided team leadership for all packaging technology assessment and applications across all product lines.
Terry is a member of IoPP College of Fellows in recognition of contributions to the packaging field and was inducted into the Packaging Hall of Fame 2007.
Anne Bieler

She has worked in the food packaging industry for more than 25 years, adapting new technologies for processors and retail marketers. Anne became a PTIS Associate in 2001 as an author and project leader in retail packaging solutions. Prior to her work as an industry consultant, Anne successfully managed packaging development groups at Cryovac in the US and Canada. As Market Development Manager, she was responsible for commercialization of new concepts for retailers, including HMR applications, modified atmosphere programs and deli/ fresh meat packaging systems. As Technical Manger, she was responsible for flexible packaging systems across a range of food applications. She also led food service packaging teams, contributing to patents and industry adoption of new systems, particularly CAP KOLD for chilled foods.
Scott A. Boboltz
Scott Boboltz is an associate member of PTIS, and founder and president of HBInnovations International, LLC, a firm that provides packaging engineering and process systems consulting services to the biotechnology, biopharm, diagnostics, and medical device industries. Other industries served are consumer & food service disposables, and specialty chemicals. Mr. Boboltz has more than 20 years experience in packaging design, packaging process development and automation, brand concept development, and cold chain shipping for science based companies with unique products and requirements. He is actively involved in design for sustainability, and is the innovator of the first encapsulated line of dry food seasonings marketed under the brand, Sedona Trading Company.
Prior, Mr. Boboltz worked at Combi Packaging Systems, Rennco, Inc., ProPack Solutions, Invitrogen (Life Technologies), General Dynamics, and Millipore Corporation.
Tim Brown
Tim Brown is Founder of Olympic Packaging Solutions and is affiliated with Packaging and Technology Integrated Solutions that provides management and packaging consultancy services to consumer packaged goods manufacturers, packaging suppliers, trade associations, government agencies, and NGOs. Brown has more than 15 years of experience in consumer and retail packaging with key responsibilities and contributions in the areas of packaging innovation, packaging material solutions, integrated packaging equipment solutions, strategic capital planning and implementation. Prior, Mr. Brown worked at Starbucks Coffee Company, M&M/Mars and Nestlé Beverage Company. He holds a BS in Packaging from the Michigan State University
Todd Bukowski

Todd Bukowskio is a packaging professional with more than 15 years of packaging experience in food and pharmaceutical packaging. He has worked in both R&D and operations capacities. Todd's past work experience includes packaging development at Kraft Foods, M&M/Mars, and Tap Pharmaceuticals.
At PTIS, Todd has worked on technology search, package development process improvement workflows, packaging development strategy projects. He has been instrumental in many PTIS sustainability initiatives. He also tracks consumer, channel, sustainability, and technology trends. Todd was a lead presenter at the Future of Packaging 2007 – 2017 and Future of Sustainable Packaging 2008-2018 programs. Todd is also an instructor for the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s Essentials of Sustainable Packaging course. He holds an MBA in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.
Nancy Limback
She is Principal of Packaging Strategies & Solutions, a consultancy serving consumer-packaged goods companies, packaging suppliers, trade associations, government agencies, and NGOs. Limback has more than 25 years of experience with Fortune 200 food and pharmaceutical companies packaging R&D, engineering, and operations. disciplines. Expertise includes setting strategic direction, organizational efficiency and budget planning, cost optimization, innovation, technology expertise, project management, and customer support. She has experience with Sara Lee/Earthgrains, Ralcorp Holding, Bristol-Myers Squibb/Mead Johnson, Mars Inc., and Ralston Purina. She led the Sara Lee team named Food Packager of the Year in 2006.
Erni Lindlar
He has more than 30 years of experience in package development, structural package design, packaging engineering, technical project management, distribution damage analysis, and testing. His efforts yielded more than $30 MM in cost savings or cost avoidance and over $100 MM in new business for his employers/clients. Mr. Lindlar has filled engineering, development, and management roles with a variety of Consumer Products manufacturers such as Church & Dwight (Arm & Hammer), General Foods, and CPC/Best Foods. Barbara McCuthchan

Barbara McCutchan, Ph.D. is a sustainability expert with 20 plus years of experience in the packaging and forestry industry sector. She has a strong record as a catalyst for change in corporate responsibility and global sustainability. She leads by example with teams and external organizations to leverage the strength of a corporation in making the world a better place, while meeting business growth, innovation and financial goals. She develops policy and builds capacity within organizations to embed sustainability practices. Her focal areas include: Integrating Sustainability into Operations, Customer and Investor Responses, DJSI World Application, Sustainability Reporting, Ethical Supply Chain Sourcing, and Forest Genetics.
Barbara is an associate with Packaging & Technology Integrated Solutions (PTIS), providing clients expanded sustainability offerings beyond sustainable packaging capabilities. Previously she was Director, Enterprise Stewardship & Sustainability for MeadWestvaco Corporation. She led enterprise-wide stewardship and sustainability coordination, monitoring, and sustainability and carbon reporting; developed information and materials to train and support customer and investor relations; and represented the company in external venues regarding sustainability initiatives. Notably, she was responsible for MeadWestvaco being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for five consecutive years 2005 through 2009, with MeadWestvaco as the leader in the Containers & Packaging group, recognizing MeadWestvaco’s economic, environmental and social leading performance.
Kevin Mulligan

Kevin Mulligan is president of KMC Services, a consultancy that brings knowledge and expertise to clients in the area of sterile medical packaging. Kevin Mulligan, who founded KMC, has more than 30 years of experience, primarily in sterile medical and pharmaceutical packaging. Kevin has held senior packaging leadership positions within Covidien, Tyco Healthcare, Kendall and Colgate Palmolive. His experience developed a clear understanding of global regulatory compliance requirements, capital equipment purchases, installation, qualification and validation, and strategy development. Programs covered cost reduction, auto ID, labeling and sustainability. He developed and implemented packaging laboratory applications and labeling solutions in Europe, Asia and across the US.
James W. Peters

Jim is a 25-year veteran of the packaging industry who has served as Director of Education for the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), and chaired the Packaging Summit Conference from 2006 through 2009. He is also a packaging consultant and a communicator in the field. He has been author and editor of multi-client studies, including principal author of Contract Packaging: Strategic Opportunities and the study Club Store Packaging and Beyond. He has edited some of packaging’s leading reference books including the third edition of Fundamentals of Packaging Technology, and the second edition of Transport Packaging. He is the founding editor of BrandPackaging magazine and was the editor of Package Engineering/Packaging magazines.
Mary Toth
Mary is a consumer insight, market research and packaging expert with more than 20 years of leading-edge experience. Prior to becoming a consultant, she was the Innovation Manager at McNeil Consumer, where she successfully identified new packaging opportunities for the company that would drive topline growth. Mary worked cross functionally to successfully define and develop business opportunities. Mary also led convenience packaging development at General Mills. Mary’s breadth of experience includes new packaging development, customer/shopper/user insights, opportunity assessments as well as packaging material development and production.
