The 2nd annual Aaron Brody Distinguished Lecture in Food
Packaging will be presented by Raymond Bourque Ph.D., President of
RAY-PAK, Inc., and former Director of Packaging and Processing at
Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. on Thursday, April 24 at 4:00 PM.
The presentation, "Aseptic Packaging - A Means to Achieve
Sustainability," will be in room 100 of the Packaging building. A
reception at 3:00 PM will precede the presentation - and both the
reception and presentation are open to the public.

DuPont Announces 20th Awards for Packaging Innovation
DuPont has announced that the packaging industry's longest running, independently judged global innovation awards program has added a special emphasis on sustainability.
Brian Wagner of PTIS is one of 12 independent jurors who will judging entries on sustainability in addition to innovation in delivering quality packaging solutions.

Correction to PTIS 2007 Fall Update

There are a few on-going reasons new products fail: In most companies the new product process does not consider integrated solutions and they bring in packaging late in the game and stick the product in a standard package without thinking how the package can help the consumer from a product performance/freshness and convenience standpoint and they forget that the package can help sell the product by increasing trial through better Shelf Impact.
